Hello!! Lets start with explaining who Samaris is: When we were coming up with a name for our Bakery, We wanted the name to have a special meaning to us and so we thought of our parents. Dad’s Last name is “Sarabia”, Mom’s maiden last name is “Marinez” and so Samaris was born. Our logo has a little more than just the name and a cake also, you see, we wanted to incorporate a little of our culture somehow. We’re originally from “Michoacan, Mexico” Where we have the Sanctuary of the Monarch Butterfly. The Monarch Butterfly Migrates from Canada, all the way to Our Hometown, That’s what that Monarch leaping on the cake symbolizes. Now how did we start our journey you may ask? Alma, Owner/Sister. Went to Culinary School and worked as a Pastry Chef for 12 years. Julio, Owner/Brother also attended Culinary School and worked in the Hospitality Industry for 10 years.. and counting. We first began baking from Home, making cakes for the Family. Eventually we had to move out of our Home because we had no room where to put our cakes!! We were lucky enough to find a local Restaurant/Bakery in Mundelein with the name of “Taste of Paris”, where we rented space in the facility for 2 years only to work on our cake orders. Those Two years were very meaningful in our Journey because we Were able to get our name out there. Chef Claude, Thank You for opening doors to us! By the end of 2017, The walk-in Cooler from “Taste of Paris” was full of our cakes! We knew it was time to move forward. Once 2018 began, we started looking for a New Home. We got the keys to our very own store in February and our Store Opened Doors to the Public for the very First Time July 15,2018 . To all of our Loyal Customers, Thank You.
